Northwest President, Dr. John Jasinski, delivered a speech yesterday evening, along with remarks from Maryville Mayor Rachel Martin and students of different religions.

The Jasinski family annually selects philanthropies in conjunction with the ceremony.

"We're so pleased to be helping a variety of great causes - our Career Closet, the Food Pantry, WeGotchya!, Ben Stockings of Hope, and Pay It Forward.  We are very thankful for whatever people can contribute to those great causes."

Dr. Jasinski says there are a variety of ways people can help out around Maryville and on campus.

"We've got collection bins across campus in most buildings, so we ask people to provide whatever they can with regard to the kinds of causes there are.  For the Career Closet, for example, clothes."

Dr Jasinski says they will be taking donations until the end of the semester.
